Chapel-en-le-Frith Post Office is to be refurbished, with customers benefitting from a modern new look and increased opening hours.
The Coppice Street post office will be closed for seven days from Monday September 2, to allow the modernisation work to be carried out.
Following the changes, post office products and services will be available Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm - increasing the opening hours on Saturday afternoons by five hours.
The post office will continue to have three serving positions, a mixture of two screened and one open-plan counter position.
Post Office Regional Network Manager Adrian Wales said: “The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
While the work takes place, customers are advised to use facilities in neighbouring towns and villages including Hayfield Post Office, on Market Street, and Chinley Post Office, on Green Lane.
Chapel-en-le-Frith Post Office will reopen at 1pm on Monday September 9.
