A BUXTON butcher is to feature in a forthcoming episode of the Channel 4 series The Secret Supper Club.
The popular programme sees presenter Olly Smith travelling the country to stage a series of adventurous suppers, finding local food producers willing to help plan, prepare and serve a spectacular feast for ten mystery guests in an unforgettable setting.
Mac Burnham, from the High Street-based Mac Burnham Traditional Family Butchers, was invited to attend an ‘edible audition’ alongside other food producers at the Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale recently.
Mac said: “We took down with us a selection of our cooked meat products - pork pies, scotch eggs - for the tasting session.
“The way it works is, you go into a room with the presenter, he tries the product and from that taste test he gets the inspiration for the supper menu.”
Both the supper menu and the location are shrouded in secrecy until the episode airs, so to find out how Mac got on watch The Secret Supper Club on Saturday April 9 on Channel 4.
