BRADWELL-BASED Newburgh Engineering has welcomed a new appointment to its sales team.

Lee Townsend joined the precision engineering company 12 years ago, fresh from completing his apprenticeship with Rolls Royce.

A highly-competent CNC machinist, Lee has excelled on a variety of three, four, five and six axis machining centres.

Now in the role of Sales Engineer, Lee is responsible for looking after the company’s central England territory, based at the head office in Rotherham.

He said: “Sales is a big cultural change for me, but because of my machining background I’m well placed to consult with our customers, advising them as to how best we can produce and deliver their complex components. I’m ready to embrace the challenges that my new role will bring me.”

Newburgh produce critical components for industries including nuclear, oil and gas, PowerGen, and automotive.
