A CHINLEY company which has invested £1.5 million and created ten new jobs has been praised by High Peak MP Andrew Bingham.

Over the last two years, Vinyl Compounds has invested in new manufacturing machines and lab equipment, securing a further ten jobs at its Stephanie Works site.

Speaking after his visit to the company on Monday, Mr Bingham said: “Yet again I have seen a High Peak business that is doing fantastic work, employing local people, exporting across the world and thriving in what are difficult economic times.

“We see and hear so many bad stories on the news, it is a real pleasure to visit a local success story.

“The investment going into plant and machinery at Vinyl Compounds not only demonstrates the confidence of the management, but shows that High Peak businesses can and do compete with companies across the world.

“It is incredible the variety of businesses we have in the High Peak. The Government are keen to support British companies looking to export and I was pleased to explain help that is available from the Government via UK Trade and Investment to help companies like Vinyl Compounds.”

Richard Loynes, Vinyl Compounds Commercial Director, added: “It was a pleasure to invite our MP Andrew Bingham back to our site and show him the successful investment programme we have implemented over the last two years, resulting in new manufacturing machines and lab equipment which gives us an unrivalled platform here in the High Peak to successfully compete in a world market.”

Vinyl Compounds are planning further investment for 2012 and later this month, are set to receive a new major piece of plant from Germany.
