Friendly face of Buxton's tourism
PHILIP and Vivienne Taylor from Underleigh House in the Hope Valley, were delighted to be one of only 20 properties nationwide nominated by the AA's expert panel of inspectors as a finalist in the 2009 AA Friendliest Landlady of the Year category.
Drawn from nearly 4,000 establishments around the UK in the AA Guest Accommodation scheme, the finalists are acknowledged for their dedication and commitment and for maintaining all-round excellence, unfailing standards and outstanding service.
Vivienne said: "We can take no credit for the beauty of our location but we take great pride in offering time, friendliness and hospitality for our guests, providing them with a memorable experience which, hopefully, they'll want to repeat!"
She already holds an Excellence for Breakfast award, and the AA recently placed Underleigh House within the top 10% of its star rating, awarding it five yellow stars and the AA Highly Commended Award for Guest Accommodation.
