Free workshops aim to get more Buxton businesses tweeting

Free workshops are being held to get more of Buxton’s businesses and organisations tweeting.

Aimed at boosting the town’s presence on Twitter, the workshops will offer help and advice on how to increase awareness of the growing impact of the social media platform, boost followers and run a successful Twitter campaign.

Sessions will take place at the Old Hall Hotel, Buxton, on Wednesday March 27 and Wednesday April 3, between 6pm and 8pm.

The beginners session on March 27 will introduce Twitter and offer basic advice on business use, while the intermediate session on April 3 will give more detailed advice on creating a Twitter campaign.

The sessions will be led by experienced social media specialist Liam Lally, who will provide tips and tricks on how Buxton businesses and organisations can work together to improve the town’s presence on Twitter.

The sessions are being organised and supported by High Peak Borough Council, Buxton Festival and the Peak District Tourist Board.

A High Peak Borough Council spokesperson said: “Getting more businesses actively using social media will help our drive to increase investor confidence and improve town centre income through greater awareness of what Buxton has to offer, and spread a positive message about the town and its continued renaissance.”

The evenings will also offer a great opportunity to network and meet contacts.

Places are limited and anyone interested should email jane.price@highpeak.gov.uk to book a place or call Claire Barlow at Buxton Festival on 01298 70395 for further details.
