Sustainable Hayfield is to show the acclaimed documentary ‘Food Inc.’ at a screening in the village next week.
The film which sets out the facts behind the food industry, and how it seeks to tickle the palate, will be shown on Tuesday March 13 at the George Hotel, Hayfield.
Ruth Wilson, from Sustainable Hayfield said: “At a time when household budgets are being stretched, it’s important to consider how we assess ‘value for money’ in what we buy. This film offers a useful perspective for us all when we consider what we want, for ourselves and our children, from what we buy.”
It charts how food production has changed and what the impact has been for individual health and the wider environment.
It looks at processed and so-called ‘fast foods’ and invites viewers to consider what they know about what they eat.
The showing of ‘Food Inc.’ rated PG, starts at 8pm and is open to all. It’s free to watch but donations are invited on the door, to cover licence costs.
