A Buxton institution will close down at the end of the month, after more than four decades of trade.
Art shop David Russell, on Hall Bank, will cease trading on July 31, 41 years after it was founded by its namesake in 1972.
Lauren Kennedy, who has run the business for 12 years, said competition from the internet and the decline of the market place were among reasons for the closure.
The shop is now holding a closing down sale and there will be a party next Saturday.
The framing business is relocating to Everything’s Rosy, on Hardwick Street.
