Businesses urged to enter awards

High Peak businesses and entrepreneurs are being urged to enter the Midlands Business Awards 2014.

Nominations are now open for the awards, which are in their eighth year, and there are 14 categories up for grabs including those for entrepreneur, service provider and innovation of the year.

Cllr Godfrey Claff, executive member for regeneration at High Peak Borough Council, said: “There are some fantastic growing firms and local entrepreneurs in High Peak but often they can be a little shy about singing their praises or, as small businesses, are so busy ‘doing the day job’ that they forget to take time to consider applying for this type of recognition.

“I would encourage any local entrepreneur to take a few minutes out of their day to look at the various categories and think about how the kind of regional publicity and recognition which being short-listed or winning would bring could help support them to grow and prosper still further.”
