Buxton’s premier food and drink festival will return in spring 2012, and will showcase the very best produce the Peak District has to offer to thousands of hungry visitors. Local producers and hoteliers are being urged to book their stalls early to avoid missing out.
On the weekend of March 31 and April 1, 2012, the University of Derby Buxton, based in the town’s iconic Dome, will host the Peak District Food and Drink Festival.
Last year’s event was a huge success, with over 1,000 people visiting to sample and buy tasty local produce like cheeses, cakes, meat and breads.
With the addition of a beer festival featuring hundreds of locally-brewed ales on tap, and street vendors filling the air with the delicious smells of their hot and tasty food, the 2012 two-day event is sure to attract an even bigger crowd.
Cookery demonstrations from local chefs and restaurants throughout the festival will give visitors the inspiration to take their ingredients and give some new recipes a go at home.
Any businesses interested in taking part in the festival should contact event organiser Tara Silverman on 01332 594606 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or Dr Liz Oldfield, Project Leader Extending the Season on 01332 594694 or email@example.com as soon as possible to guarantee their stall, or visit www.extendingtheseason.co.uk for more information.
