A High Peak enterprise has been nominated for a prestigious business award.

The Cake Nest, which posts thousands of delicious slices of cake to sweet-toothed recipients every year, has been shortlisted for the Online Business of the Year accolade in the 2015 E3 Business Awards.

The Furness Vale-based company, whose service enables clients to send celebratory slices of cake to friends, colleagues or family members by simply clicking onto their website, was selected from hundreds of nominees across the North West to become a finalist in the prestigious competition.

“This is wonderful news and it came completely out of the blue,” said Cake Nest founder and Director Abi Phillips.

“It is an honour to be nominated, but we’ve now to await the final results which will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Macron Stadium in Bolton on June 11.”

The surprise nomination is an unexpected birthday gift to Abi and her husband, MD Steve, who are celebrating the fifth birthday of their business, which has enjoyed significant growth.
