Boost for Citizens’ Advice

IMPROVEMENTS have been made to an advice service in New Mills to meet a growing demand.

With the help of New Mills Town Council, the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) has moved into bigger, better premises, allowing more advisers to be on duty at any one time.

More people can now be advised at drop-in and appointment sessions.

New Mills CAB is also working with other advice centres to staff a telephone advice line for five days per week.

Supervisor Joan Easthope said: “The current economic climate means that demand for our services is at an all-time high.

“These improvements will help us cope with increased demand and provide a better service for our users.”

New Mills CAB runs drop-in advice sessions every Tuesday 10am – 2pm at New Mills Town Hall. At other times by appointment only.

The telephone advice line runs from 10am – 3pm every weekday and until 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Phone 08444 111308 or email gethelp@advicederbyshire.org.
