Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens is to host two events this bank holiday weekend which organisers hope will offer something for everyone.
An evening food and drink festival will kick the weekend off today (Friday) at 4pm, before the main event of the second annual Buxton Show takes over on Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday Monday.
Friday’s food festival promises hot food, beer tents and music and an evening which all the family can enjoy, outside on the promenade.
And Saturday, Sunday and Monday’s Buxton Show will feature entertainment including children’s rides, balloon modelling, face painting and close encounters with fascinating birds of prey.
There will also be a mouth-watering collection of food stalls to choose from including homemade chutneys, cheeses and puddings, and a selection of outdoor hot food.
And inside the Octagon Hall will be an array of stalls selling everything from jewellery and gifts to plants and crafts, including many unique, hand-crafted items that cannot be found on the high street.
The event will also feature a classic car display on Sunday, ferret “roulette”, and bands on the bandstand between 2pm and 4pm every day, including Dove Holes Band on Saturday, the Lydgate Band on Sunday and Poynton Royal British Legion Band on Monday.
Admission is free of charge throughout the weekend.
