Police are asking for the public’s help to catch prolific Bakewell vandals after graffiti tags were sprayed on buildings in town.

In the past few weeks police have received numerous reports of graffiti being sprayed in the town – creating an untidy and threatening mess in the town.

Bakewell’s Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out increased high visibility patrols in the town to deter criminal damage and catch offenders in the act.

They are also asking for the public’s help by encouraging residents to report any suspicious behaviour or damage to them.

PCSO Hayley Grundy from the team said: “We are appealing to the public in the hope that someone may know who is responsible for this damage.

“Bakewell is a lovely place to live, work and visit, yet is being let down by vandals spraying graffiti in the area.
