Appeal after park robbery

BUXTON police are investigating after a man was robbed after a night out in the town.

The 43-year-old was walking through Ashwood Park, Bakewell Road, at around 3.40am on Saturday, November 5 when he was approached by a man holding a piece of wood.

The man demanded the victim’s cash and when he handed over some change, the robber ran off. The robber is described as being in his late teens and around 5ft 7ins tall. He wore dark clothing.

l THE Co-op store on Buxton Road, Whaley Bridge, was broken into in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A car was seen speeding away from the scene and a suspicious vehicle was later found by police on a dirt track on Torkington Road, Stockport. It is believed cigarettes may have been stolen.
