The Buxton office of Smith Cooper, one of the largest locally owned, independent accountancy firms in the Midlands, has organised a sponsored walk in aid of High Peak Foodbank.

The event is taking place on Sunday, September 25, and has been nicknamed The Dambusters Walk by those taking part as it follows a 25kilometre route around the perimeter of the Ladybower, Derwent and Howden reservoirs.

Company partner Catherine Desmond said: “We are very pleased to be raising money for High Peak Foodbank, who are our chosen charity for this year.

“They provide vital support to individuals in the local area and we are proud to be supporting this.”

High Peak Foodbank is a charity established to work with individuals in crisis situations to provide food to prevent immediate hunger, support to sort out the crisis and help finding jobs so people do not face poverty again.

The team at the Buxton office, along with families and friends, have been training over the past few weeks and are seeking sponsorship from clients and the wider community.
