Abseiling for charity

Sight Support Derbyshire are giving everyone the chance to abseil down one of the tallest buildings in Derby to help raise funds for the charity on September 8.

The abseil at the 110ft tall Jurys Inn Hotel, starts at 10am and those taking part need to raise at least £100 for the charity.

All equipment and training is provided and almost anyone over 14 can take part irrespective of ability, size or confidence.

Some of the charity’s trustees will be getting involved including Robert Gill who is registered blind.

He said: “The money we will raise from the abseil will make a real difference to the everyday lives of blind or visually impaired people.”
