Older residents in Hayfield are in for a treat when the annual Wright Turner Party takes place this weekend.
The party is to be held on Saturday April 13, at St Matthew’s Church Hall.
Doors open at 4pm, with tea being served at 4.30pm. Entertainment, provided by Tideswell Male Voice Choir, will start at 6.30pm.
Anyone wishing to attend should give their name in at Marjorie Shaw’s shop or contact Eva Lawson on 01663 743303. Transport can also be provided if required.
The Wright Turner Party has been held in the village for around 150 years.
Originally organised by Hayfield-born Wright Turner, a former Mayor of Salford, after his death he left a bequest so that the party could continue every year.
