A summer of fun is planned

As schools break up for summer a host of organisations are busy putting the finishing touches to six weeks of fun activities.

At Cote Heath Park in Buxton, free sports will be available each Wednesday.

There will be: 10-11am 3-5’s multi sports (parental supervision required); 11am-12pm 5-10 year old multi-sports; 12.30-1.30pm: 5-10 year old football; 1.30-3pm: 10+ football and futsal. Sports will run in all weathers so bring a coat, a drink and lunch if required.

The sessions will be run by Little Sports Coaching and funded by Cote Heath Park Users Group. All coaches are CRB cleared and first aid trained. For further information contact Mel on 07970055407.

l‘My Summer’ is this year’s free summer holiday activity programme delivered by High Peak Community Housing.

Details on all the activities for under 16’s are available at www.hpch.co.uk .

David Longbone from the Community Partnership Team said: “We know from last year how popular these activities are. It’s a great chance to get fit, and meet some new friends – best of all they are free!”

lFrom crafts and canoeing to soccer and squash, there will be something for all tastes this summer as High Peak’s leisure venues push the boat out for holiday-making youngsters.

The Borough Council has joined forces with DC Leisure to serve up a six-week feast of family fun running from Monday, July 23 to Friday, August 31.

lFor more information about the activities taking place, including details of any charges and special offers go to www.highpeak.gov.uk or contact the leisure venues, in Buxton, New Mills and Glososp.
