A BUXTON teenager has successfully completed the first phase of his army training.
Former Buxton Community School pupil Zak Blanksby, 17, of Cliff Road, joined the army in March, and has now finished his Phase 1 training.

Following a period of leave, he is now due to undergo 12 weeks of Phase Two training at Bovington, after which he expects to be stationed in Germany.

Mum Suzanne Garner said: "We are all very proud of him. Zak has wanted to be in the army since he was five or six years old."
