A COUNCIL has apologised to a Buxton resident after problems with his recycling collections.
Michael Bonsall contacted the Advertiser to complain about High Peak Borough Council's repeated failure to collect bottles and newspapers from his Belmont Terrace home.

In a letter to the council, dated August 22, he wrote: "Yet again your employees never came to the above address to take away the bottles, papers, etc. This is twice in two weeks, and five times in 12 weeks.

"We pay £130 per month council tax, which is very expensive considering the very poor quality of service we are getting."

Angry at the lack of action, Mr Bonsall even dumped his uncollected papers and bottles in the reception area at Buxton Town Hall.

High Peak Borough Council has now apologised for any inconvenience caused.

A statement said: "A representative has visited Mr Bonsall.

He now has an assisted collection, and his green box will be emptied.

"Our records have been updated to that effect."
