THE MAYOR'S Christmas Children's Fun Day is set to be a roaring success – with the added attraction of a mobile zoo.
Cllr Robin Baldry has arranged for Petwise Zoo to join in the celebrations at his seasonal fund-raising event, which will be held at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, on Sunday December 21, between 10am and 3pm.

One of the largest and most versatile mobile zoos in the UK, it will have animals ranging from meerkats, gophers, parrots and ferrets to snakes, lizards, poultry and rabbits, all situated inside and outside a marquee on the Promenade at the Gardens.

There will be plenty of audience participation – with the children being able to hold some of the animals and learn all about them.

Other attractions at the event will include children's rides, Fairfield Band, a group of Singing Santas and festive refreshments including roasted chestnuts.

Cllr Baldry, who is organising the fun day to raise money for his Mayoral Charity, said: "It is going to be an excellent day.

"With all the doom and gloom about recession and people not spending money, I wanted to spread some festive cheer by putting on a fun day for the children just before Christmas."
