POLICE have raided 19 properties across Derbyshire and arrested 16 people as part of a drugs operation.
Warrants were executed at properties and businesses in Matlock, Chesterfield, Derby and Buxton on Wednesday and Thursday.

A range of drugs were seized, including cannabis, cocaine and Class C steroids.

Detective Chief Inspector Sandra Baker, of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: "We will continue to disrupt the drugs market in Derbyshire and we urge people to come forward from local communities if they have information about drugs in their area."

Five people, all from Chesterfield, have been charged with a range of drugs offences and released on bail.

A 38-year-old man from Brimington, who was charged with drugs offences and money laundering, appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield today (Friday) and was remanded in custody.
