A SUCCESSFUL village fete which included the crowning of the 2006 Rose Queen rounded off a week of celebrations in Peak Forest.
Villagers flocked to the traditional event to see Helena Gordon crowned by Cllr Ann Young.

Attractions included a variety of stalls, games, a bouncy castle and even a chocolate fountain.

During the week an exhibition and floral display depicting "A Friend in Need" was on display at the Church of Charles, King and Martyr; the traditional well dressings were unveiled — and a concert was held at the church.

The final event of the week was a Rose Queen Service in the church
