CHILDREN aged 16 and under have been making the most of High Peak Borough Council's free swimming offer, figures have revealed
The number attending the Borough's pools in the first three weeks of the summer holidays increased by 9 % when compared with last year.
There was also a 17% increase in the number of adults attending, suggesting a boost in family use of the pools
.
Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development, said: "I am delighted to see such a positive response to the free swimming offer so far this summer.
"Don't forget to make the most of the offer during the remaining two weeks of the holidays – especially as the wet weather is making outdoor fun a bit of a problem!"
