Death crash driver named

POLICE have named the driver who died in a crash on the A53 at Quarnford on Wednesday.
Peter Henry Skupien, 41, of Leek, was driving a red Ford Mondeo which was in collision with a HGV vehicle. He was prounounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened at about 3.20pm at Quarnford Lodge. The road was closed until around 10.50pm.

A 34-year-old Polish national lorry driver, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, remains in custody.
