RESIDENTS of Buxton will be able to find out more about plans to invest up to £3 billion in Greater Manchester's public transport, and the proposed introduction of a weekday peak time only congestion charge in 2013.
Morrison's in Buxton will host one of a series of exhibitions outside Greater Manchester on Sunday 5 October between 10.30am – 4.30pm.
The exhibition is intended to give visitors the opportunity to find out more about the proposed public transport
investment, ask questions about how a congestion charge might affect them and give their views on the proposals.
GMPTE has ensured that everybody will be given the full picture of the package with a Big Brother-style "Diary Room" and a giant map to help people to understand the impact of the changes on their future journeys.
Responses to the consultation will enable Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) to confirm details of the proposals, including the exact location of the inner ring, the precise position of the charging points around the outer ring and discounts for specific groups of drivers.
A full report on the consultation findings will then be published which will be made available at libraries and on the www.gmfuturetransport.co.uk website. A summary will be sent to those who request it.
A full list of dates and locations of the exhibition are on www.gmfuturetransport.com.
