Buxton's royalty chosen

FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD Amy Totton has been selected to become Buxton Wells Dressing Festival Queen Elect.
The teenager from Fairfield was selected at an event held at Buxton Working Men's Club on Sunday.

Organisers were delighted that so many youngsters had put themselves forward for the 2010 royalty.

Amy will be joined by Rosebud Elect Amy Brittain-Cartlidge, aged six, and attendants: Ella Whittle, aged seven; Romia Manley, aged seven and Georgia Stone, aged ten Nine-year-old Joseph Beasley is to be a pageboy.

The 2010 Queen and Rosebud will be crowned at a ceremony at St John's Church, Buxton on Sunday July 11, following the blessing of the wells. The carnival will take place on July 17.
