THE opportunity to put forward suggestions on how the local area should be developed over the next 20 years will be available at two area forum meetings next week.
Residents and businesses are invited to attend where discussions will take place on affordable housing, creating jobs in the area, public transport, global warming and improving local landscapes and buildings.
Buxton Area Forum is on Wednesday, May 14 at Buxton Community School.
The Central Area Forum for Whaley Bridge, New Mills, Chapel, Hayfield and Chinley is on Thursday May 15 at New Mills High School.
Both events start at 6.30pm when refreshments will be available. The meetings will start at 7pm and finish at 9pm. High Peak Borough councillors and staff will be on hand to answer questions, listen to views and take note of any suggestions.
Councillor Jonathan Davey, Buxton Area Forum Chairman, said: "It is important that local people, businesses and other interested groups take the opportunity to voice their opinions. If you are unable to attend you can always submit a question or comment for inclusion at the meeting up to three days before the event."
Councillor David Lomax, Central Area Forum Chairman, added: "There will also be the opportunity to talk to local councillors and officers informally about any local issues and get an update on the 'Going Local' environmental projects. Once again, we have secured £10,000 for the local area and we would like your views on how it should be spent."
Both venues have wheelchair access and a hearing loop. For further information, or to submit a question or comment, contact: Call High Peak on 0845 129 77 77 or email High Peak Borough Council at:
