THREE motorcyclists have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal accident on the outskirts of Buxton.
A 40-year-old motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries after the Yamaha motorbike he was riding was in collision with a Volvo car on the A53.

The driver of the Volvo, who had been travelling away from Buxton, was not injured.

Fire crews from Buxton and Whaley Bridge were called to the scene of the accident at Ladmanlow on the Buxton to Leek road just before 12.30pm on Tuesday afternoon. The road remained closed until 5pm.

The motorcyclist from Stoke-on-Trent, who has not yet been named by police as not all of his family members have been informed of his death, was one of a group of four motorcyclists riding on the A53 towards Buxton.

It is the other three members of the group he was with who were arrested in connection with the accident.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the accident or who saw the group of motorcyclists. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 01773 572929 or 0845 123 33 33. The incident number is 333 of August 26.
