A CHARITY event held in memory of a Buxton man has raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The musical event featured Radio 1 DJ Kutski and a host of other DJs appearing at Mood in Buxton and was organised by friends of Alex Winston, who died of cancer just before Christmas.

All three floors of Mood were taken over for the event, which featured a variety of music and raised £1,050 for the charity.

Organiser Dan Wagstaffe said: "Everything went really well. It was really busy and everyone had a top night.

"I'd like to thank all the DJs involved, Kutski, Omm, Daj, Jimmy, Mouse, Rusty and Kristoff, Simon and all the staff at Mood, Matt and Shane at BBC Radio Derby, The Buxton Advertiser, Louise, Mike, Veronica and Dave (for the buffet) and everybody who turned up and made it such a success.

"This was definitely the first of many to come so watch this space!"
