Over £1000 has been raised for Soldiers’ Charity Help for Heroes by Conservative politicians Andrew Bingham and Emma McClarkin on their recent High Peak Hike.
The High Peak MP and East Midlands MEP walked over 30 miles from Glossop to Buxton via Brough in August.
Andrew said: “I’m really pleased we’ve managed to raise so much money for Help for Heroes. Our target was £1000, so to beat that is fantastic.
“We’re both part of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, getting a better understanding of everything our soldiers do for us, so I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to do something for them.”
Emma added: “I’m delighted that we’ve managed to beat our target of £1000, and I know that Help for Heroes will ensure that it makes a real difference to soldiers’ lives.”
