SPORTY New Mills teenager Niall Hearsum is preparing to pound the streets of Manchester in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
The 15-year-old, who is a pupil at New Mills School, is taking part in the ten kilometre BUPA Great Manchester Run on Sunday, May 18.

"His grandad had a five-way bypass about 11 years ago, and if it wasn't for that he wouldn't be here today, so it has kind of inspired him to do the run for them," explained mum Clare.

"Niall is quite sporty and plays football for New Mills Juniors, but he has never done a run like this before."

Niall is appealing to local businesses for sponsorship, and anyone who would like to offer their support can visit www.justgiving.com/niallhearsum.
