SUE'S Singers, a mixed choir who sing for pleasure to raise money for charity, this year celebrate 25 years of concerts.
Their first concert was at New Mills Cricket Club in June 1983.

Sue Hampson formed the choir in 1982 when she relinquished her post as Musical Director for New Mills Amateur Operatic Society.

Many of the past members joined the existing members at a reunion at Brabyns School, Marple, where the choir rehearses each Thursday evening. A very good time was had by all.

Over these 25 years, the choir has donated many thousands of pounds to local hospices and charities.

The choir performs a very wide variety of songs, including many popular songs from the shows. Their repertoire is vast.

New members are always welcome, especially men.

Some previous choral experience and the ability to sing in tune is obviously a necessity.

Any enquiries regarding membership or concerts should be made to Sue on 0161 427 5192.
