NEW MILLS looks set to get a new health centre under plans approved by Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust last week.
The trust's board approved the provision of new primary care premises in the town for Arden House Medical Practice at their monthly meeting held in Bakewell last Wednesday.

The current facilities have been deemed unfit as they do not meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act with less abled patients only able to access facilities on the ground floor.

A report said: "Current premises have been identified as unsuitable and the preferred option is to re-locate to a site 150 metres from the current building, with increased car parking and ready access to public transport."

As well as being easily accessible for disabled or less abled patients, the new practice will also have the addition of an on site pharmacy.
