A STRINES pub has raised over £1,700 for Action Duchenne following a charity night.
Action Duchenne was set up to raise awareness and funding for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a genetic muscle wasting illness which affects one in every 3,500 boys.

Carl Tilson, 21, who was born with the condition, hosted the charity event at The Sportsman recently.

Licensee Sue Stockton said: "With an amazing amount of support from customers and suppliers alike, we raised over £1,700 with a raffle, donations and an auction."

The evening also included singing by Fred Tilson, Carl's father.
