DESPITE crowds being down on previous years as a result of the weather, organisers of this year's New Mills Parade and Fete have announced that a total of £1,044.49 was raised from the event's bucket collection.
A spokesperson for the event thanked all those who had contributed to the bucket collection, as well as Keith Baxter who single-handedly collected a staggering £220, a figure which is almost identical to the amount he collected last year.
