A NEW Mills woman who took part in a prestigious fashion show has described it a "fantastic experience."
Karen Hibbert, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2002, joined 20 other models on the catwalk who are all affected by the condition.

She said: "It's difficult to explain how I felt being on the catwalk – it was absolutely fantastic. All those people were watching me in that dress and those shoes! It was amazing to be the focus of everyone's attention and I had to be so careful as I'm not used to walking in shoes that high.

"The whole experience was amazing; from going to Harvey Nichols and having a personal shopper, to having my hair and make-up done professionally. The atmosphere was brilliant before we went on stage. Everyone was laughing and joking, and even though it was a very long day and I did feel quite tired by the end of it, I would definitely go through it all again.

"It was worth every moment, and I'm still on cloud nine and I'll be up here for a long time to come!"

Overall the fashion show held during MS Life, the MS Society's annual exhibition, raised over £3,000 for the MS Society.
