NEW MILLS Adult Community Education Centre – among a handful of local authority-run centres in the country to offer the Access to Higher Education Diploma – has places on its courses.
The Access Diploma in Health Professions and Humanities and Social Sciences will be offered at the Spring Bank centre from September.

It is aimed at people who didn't get many qualifications at school but would like to pursue a vocational or academic career.

It is among the entry requirements for people wanting to go on to take degrees in their chosen subject.

The centre will also be running three new NVQ courses from the start of the new term: Childcare Learning and Development Level 2 and Level 3, and Supporting Children in Schools Level 2.

There will also be the chance to take up new ITQ qualifications to allow learners to build on their knowledge of IT to gain a Level 2 qualification.

For more information, call 01663 746897.
