POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in New Mills that left a man hospitalised.
Between 10.30pm and 11pm on June 15, three men broke into a property at New Mills Marina and threatened the occupier with a metal bar, asking for money.

They were disturbed by one of the other residents and made off towards Hibbert Street before two of the offenders headed towards the railway station and the third turned right towards the town centre.

One of the offenders is described as wearing dark clothing and being of mixed race, while another was wearing a white t-shirt.

The occupier of the property was injured in the attack and spent time in hospital, suffering a broken arm.

DC Ian Butterworth said: "This was a vicious attack on an innocent person who didn't have any money to give."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Butterworth on the Derbyshire Police non-emergency number 0845 123 3333 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
