WHALEY Bridge Allotment and Gardeners Society have arranged a talk by Anthony Norman of Conquest Plants at Bosley to be held on Tuesday, October 21 at the Uniting Church, Whaley Bridge.
The talk is titled "Colour in Leaf" and will show the wide range of variegated and coloured leaf plants available today, and how to use them in the garden for maximum effect. Conquest Plants specialise in this area and attend many local and national shows to promote their business.

The Allotment and Gardeners Society is 25 years old this year and has arranged a number of day trips during the season to a variety of Gardens and Shows, including a trip last month to Harrogate Autumn Flower Show. There are also a couple of coffee mornings during the season. They have around 150 members who can buy compost and gardening sundries from the Society's store which opens on Sunday mornings in the season. Membership is £4 per annum.

The talk starts at 7.30pm and is open to non-members at a cost of £2, and anyone joining on the night will have this re-funded. There will be refreshments following the talk, and Conquest will have plants for sale.
