HORWICH End WI's September meeting was very well attended and members heard a talk on the training and work of Mountain Rescue dogs by Malcolm Bowyer, accompanied by his dog.
The garden group has visited the National Memorial Aboretum and two lovely gardens in Staffordshire and Otterbrook in Chinley, Two members attended the DFWI commemorative service in Tideswell Church.

An acknowledgement of the WI's £50 donation to the Mobile Physiotherapy had been received.

Future events include the Group Quiz, the DFWI council meeting in Derby and the Autumn Group meeting. Craft meetings take place at least once a month through the winter.

The August birthday raffle was won by Hilda Burgess and the September one by Ann Yates. Mary Nother won the general raffle, and Irene Osborn the dog picture competition.
