DESPITE the constantly-rising price of petrol and the impact of the credit-crunch on domestic budgets, Hope Valley Rotarians are confident that this year's vintage and classic transport extravaganza will be as popular as ever with both motoring enthusiasts and families who now make it an annual day out.
"The economic downturn has had no obvious effect on entries in either the car or the motor-cycle classes and all the indications are that this year's show will be a great success," said organiser Malcolm Dungworth.

The show will be staged on Sunday, July 27, at Bamford Recreation Ground and opens at mid-day.

All profits will go to further the work of Edale Mountain Rescue Service and Macmillan Cancer Support.

For entrants, a scenic fun-run will be held before the event opens. The 30-mile route starts at Carriages Restaurant, Newhaven. Breakfast will be available there from 9.30am and arrangements should be made with Rotarian Karina Guarino on 01298 84528.

Further information is available from entries secretary Rtn Chris Kraushaar on 01629 812344.
