OVER 150 people tried their hand at orienteering in Buxton's Pavilion Gardens at an event which saw the launch of DVO Buxton – part of Derbyshire's orienteering club Derwent Valley Orienteers.
Catering particularly for those who had not tried orienteering before, the organisers were pleased to see such a large turnout on Saturday at the first of a series of events in the High Peak.

Full results of the Pavilion Gardens event can be found on the DVO website, www.dvo.org.uk.

DVO Buxton is an initiative set up with the support of British Orienteering and Derbyshire Sport to promote orienteering in the High Peak. Club nights will be on Tuesdays between 6-30pm and 8pm at the Gothic Hall, Buxton Community School.

All ages and abilities are welcome to go along to have fun, get fit and learn orienteering skills.

Activities include group runs, circuit training, indoor and outdoor orienteering exercises and problem solving exercises.

No experience is necessary and the exercises are suitable for all fitness levels, ages and abilities.

It costs just £2 for adults and £1 for the under 20s and full-time students.
