THE Blackbrook Conservation Society have finish a busy summer season of local walks. Early in the Spring members did a full survey on all the Rights of Ways within the Chinley, Buxworth and Brownside Parish for the Derbyshire County Council finding 185 faults on them. Two of these were complete blockages which the county council has now cleared, with the others work has been started by the DCC on clearing up the problems.
The Summer Thursday walks were well attended and though the weather tried its hardest to disrupt the walks people still turned up.

The Conservation Society has now organised a illustrated talk on "The Restoration and Development of the Bugsworth Basin" to be given by Ian Edgar and Don Baines, on October 13 at 8pm in the St Mary's Church Meeting Room, Chinley.
