It’s panto time again and Buxton Drama League – always up for bringing audiences something a little different – are preparing a pantomime with a hilarious new twist.

Frankenstein the Panto whisks the audience from the Burbage Institute to an inn in Bavaria, where helpful orphan Heidi and her friend Frankie are under siege from hopeless vampire Dracula and his gummy granny.

Chaos reigns as they’re joined by a group of St Trinians-style schoolgirls and their teacher, Miss Nelly.

It’ll take Professor Crackpot turning Frankie into a new kind of superhero – Frankenstein! – once and for all.

Director Jayne Marling said: “Children of all ages love a bit of monster mayhem and this show delivers! It has all the elements of a traditional pantomime, with songs, dances and laughter for all the family.

“It features many popular Drama League regulars as well as some talented newcomers of all ages. So don’t miss out on a truly unique panto that’ll have you screaming … with laughter!”

Frankenstein the Panto will be performed at the Burbage Institute on Friday February 1, Saturday February 2, Friday February 8 and Saturday February 9 at 7.30pm, with Saturday matinees at 2.30pm.

Tickets, priced £7 for adults and £5 for children, can be purchased from Clowes the Chemist, Burbage News, Mac Burnham Butchers (Buxton) and on the door.

Also, if you book for the first Friday and Saturday afternoon performances, buy one adult and child ticket and a second child goes free.
