Open mic acts are Leek-bound

A GROUP of top open-microphone original performers from Buxton will be appearing at Foxlowe Arts Centre, Leek, on Thursday December 6, from 8pm.

Johnny Dysfunctional took his band Boy in a Dolls House to the semi-final of Live & Unsigned, and his ‘Singalong Recession Song’ represented High Peak in a House of Parliament-sponsored song competition.

In Leek, he will perform an eclectic mix of comic songs and ballads.

Jack Regan, a hilarious word contortionist and killer rhymer, opens the show before talented Hilary Iredale sings her own songs of love, sorrow and irony.

Compere performance poet Julian Cohen then introduces Susannah Thompson, an artist and colourful poet whose work speaks from the heart, followed by Johnny Dysfunctional.

Admission to the event is free, but donations can be made towards Foxlowe Arts Centre which the artistes are supporting.
