FANS OF Karen Carpenter are in for a treat at this year's Buxton Festival Fringe in a brand new musical show by local writers Alan Charnley and Deirdre Costello.
The pair will present 'Come Back to Blackpool, Karen Carpenter,' at the Grove Hotel, Buxton, on Friday July 16 and Friday July 23, from 9pm.
In the show you hear Karen's greatest hits sung and there are cameo slots by none other than Elvis Presley and John Lennon.
Deirdre Costello, who lives in Buxton, has starred in Dead Man Weds, the Full Monty, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, London's Burning and The Cops.
Alan is a member of band Boy in a Dolls House, which he formed as a vehicle for his own songwriting.
