Festival of health and healing at The Gardens
THE SCENE is set for the 12th Health and Healing Festival at Buxton's Pavilion Gardens this weekend.
Highlights include the appearance of renowned Crystal Skull expert DaEl Walker. Flying in from the USA especially for the event, DaEl is part Native American descended from the Cherokee tribe, an elder of the Spirit Horse Medicine Society and renowned author on a number of crystal healing books.
Archaeologist Mark Olly, of the Celtic Warrington Project and presenter of Granada TVs “Lost Treasures”, delves into signs, symbols and the history of witchcraft and discusses impact then and today.
Over the weekend, 22 performances will take place on the Octagon's famous stage.
Internationally renowned flautist Tim Wheater returns to share his ethereal style and passion for Sound Healing.
Will Pimlett and Keith Shadowhawk Adams, exponents of Native American flute music make a welcome return.
Dragon fly Moon provide songs of change and inspiration, while singer guitarists Carol Isis and Kim Seymour are among the popular prominent performers.
Infinite Tai Chi expert Jason Chan makes yet another appearance, with yoga exponents complementing proceedings. All display physical de-stressing techniques.
New this year are signature, flower and sand ‘readers’ as is the author’s book signing stand in liaison with The Magik Thread.
Authors Kit Berry, Elizabeth Whiter, Anna-Louise Haigh and Stephanie J King, all presenting either talks or workshops, will be available to sign their books on the day.
Many of the workshops are new this year. Tom Leworthy, Rachael Wilmott, Lawrence Heylen, Nigel Clay and others will be presenting half hour talks.
The Health and Healing Festival, with over 90 exhibitors and 50 workshops, is open from 10am to 6pm both days. Admission is 4 per day with two-day tickets and concessions available.
