ENJOY a festive, family treat in New Mills and join Badapple Theatre for their latest production as they put their village-comedy slant on Charles Dickens’ infamous Christmas story.

Farmer Scrooge’s Christmas Carol is a comedy version of the traditional A Christmas Carol in which Scrooge is a grumpy Yorkshire Farmer!

This Live and Local production, which is recommended for children aged five and over, and their families, comes to Spring Bank Arts Centre on Thursday December 6, from 6pm.

Have a good chuckle while the blustering, skin-flint Ebeneezer Scrooge gets his comeuppance and is forced to see the error of his penny-pinching ways. The show is set against the backdrop of 1950s austerity Britain, with comic tales and carols, puppets and mayhem from two lively actors who encourage plenty of banter.

Throw in original songs by multi award-winning songwriter Jez Lowe, Tiny Tim, turkeys, Scrooge’s ghosts, Carols and puppets - and there’s a winter-warmer to put a smile on your face.

Written by Kate Bramley, founder of the Badapple Theatre Company and former Associate Director with the acclaimed Hull Truck Theatre Company, this play includes a good dose of Yorkshire humour.

Tickets, priced £8 (£6 concessions), are available in advance from High Street Books.
